SERVICES AVAILABLE

No one will be accepted over the telephone. The Admission Interview must be ‘face to face’. The assessment will determine eligibility and appropriateness to this facility as well as determining the individual client’s needs so that we may make a recommendation as to the environment (detox, outpatient, residential) that would be appropriate. Proof of Income will be required.

1. DETOXIFICATION

  A. Non-Medical Observation: The client is placed in our observation room and is closely monitored for withdrawal symptoms. If symptoms reach a level of severity, which warrants a medical referral, the client will be transferred to medical detoxification status.

B. Medical Detoxification: The clients who need medical care are transported to the nearest Emergency Room. When their condition has stabilized, they will be returned to Harbor House, Inc. for their individualized treatment program. The individual will be responsible for any medical cost incurred.

2. RESIDENTIAL ALCOHOL & DRUG TREATMENT PROGRAM

This program offers the benefit of structured care in an alcohol and drug-free environment to those who are unable to function as a result of their substance abuse problem. The length of stay will be determined by how long it takes the client to complete the goals and objectives of their individual treatment plan. Males only, ages 18 years and older.

3. OUT-PATIENT ALCOHOL & DRUG TREATMENT PROGRAM

The program goal is to provide a treatment regimen for those clients whose physical and emotional status allows them to function in their home environment. Treatment plans are individualized with the right reserved to recommend residential treatment if abstinence cannot be maintained on an out-patient basis. Males or Females, ages 17 years and older.

4. MATRIX PROGRAM

The Matrix Program is a twelve week out-patient treatment program which focuses on Methamphetamine users who have a history of relapse. This program has been developed not only for the individual, but also for the family members. Males or Females, ages 17 and older.

5. INTENSIVE OUT-PATIENT ALCOHOL & DRUG TREATMENT PROGRAM

This is a shorter version of our regular Out-Patient Program. Period of time in this program is six weeks. The individual must be willing to attend nine group therapy sessions per week, and a minimum of one hour of individual counseling a month (most receive 30 minutes of individual counseling per week). Males or Females, ages 17 years and older.

6. CHEMICAL FREE LIVING CENTER PROGRAM

Once a client has completed the residential program, he has the opportunity to apply for residency in our Chemical Free Living Center, (CFLC). The main focus of the center is to provide the client with a continued structure while easing the client back into the work force, society, and, if possible, with their families. The center provides a home-like atmosphere with fellowship and responsibility. Each client is expected to pay rent, (foster financial responsibility), as well as meet minimal standards for attendance at out-patient groups, individual counseling sessions, and outside AA/NA Meetings.

7. FAMILY AWARENESS PROGRAM

Every Sunday afternoon from 1:30 PM until 2:30 PM, Harbor House, Inc. presents sessions for family and friends of the chemically dependent. Attendance at this session is mandatory for family members who wish to visit the client during visitation times on the weekend.

8. INTERMIN SERVICES

Due to the high demand for Residential Treatment Services, and the limited number of beds available, at times, all we can offer an individual are classes that include: counseling and education about HIV and Tuberculosis (TB); about the risks of needle-sharing; the risks of transmission to sexual partners and infants, and about steps that can be taken to ensure that HIV and TB transmission does not occur, as well as referral for HIV or TB services if necessary. At the time of the Pre-Screening, the admission counselor will offer these services until a residential bed opens up.
