SERVICES AVAILABLE
No
one will be accepted over the telephone. The Admission Interview must
be ‘face to face’. The assessment will determine eligibility and appropriateness
to this facility as well as determining the individual client’s needs
so that we may make a recommendation as to the environment (detox, outpatient,
residential) that would be appropriate. Proof of Income will be required.
1. DETOXIFICATION

A. Non-Medical
Observation: The client is placed in our observation room and is
closely monitored for withdrawal symptoms. If symptoms reach a level
of severity, which warrants a medical referral, the client will
be transferred to medical detoxification status.
B. Medical Detoxification: The clients who need medical care
are transported to the nearest Emergency Room. When their condition
has stabilized, they will be returned to Harbor House, Inc. for
their individualized treatment program. The individual will
be responsible for any medical cost incurred. |
2. RESIDENTIAL
ALCOHOL & DRUG TREATMENT PROGRAM
This
program offers the benefit of structured care in an alcohol and
drug-free environment to those who are unable to function as a result
of their substance abuse problem. The length of stay will be determined
by how long it takes the client to complete the goals and objectives
of their individual treatment plan. Males only, ages 18 years and
older.

3. OUT-PATIENT
ALCOHOL & DRUG TREATMENT PROGRAM
The
program goal is to provide a treatment regimen for those clients
whose physical and emotional status allows them to function in their
home environment. Treatment plans are individualized with the right
reserved to recommend residential treatment if abstinence cannot
be maintained on an out-patient basis. Males or Females, ages 17
years and older.
4. MATRIX
PROGRAM
The
Matrix Program is a twelve week out-patient treatment program which
focuses on Methamphetamine users who have a history of relapse.
This program has been developed not only for the individual, but
also for the family members. Males or Females, ages 17 and older.
5. INTENSIVE
OUT-PATIENT ALCOHOL & DRUG TREATMENT PROGRAM
This
is a shorter version of our regular Out-Patient Program. Period
of time in this program is six weeks. The individual must
be willing to attend nine group therapy sessions per week, and a
minimum of one hour of individual counseling a month (most receive
30 minutes of individual counseling per week). Males or Females,
ages 17 years and older.
6. CHEMICAL
FREE LIVING CENTER PROGRAM
Once
a client has completed the residential program, he has the opportunity
to apply for residency in our Chemical Free Living Center, (CFLC).
The main focus of the center is to provide the client with a continued
structure while easing the client back into the work force, society,
and, if possible, with their families. The center provides a home-like
atmosphere with fellowship and responsibility. Each client is expected
to pay rent, (foster financial responsibility), as well as meet
minimal standards for attendance at out-patient groups, individual
counseling sessions, and outside AA/NA Meetings.

7. FAMILY
AWARENESS PROGRAM
Every
Sunday afternoon from 1:30 PM until 2:30 PM, Harbor House, Inc.
presents sessions for family and friends of the chemically dependent.
Attendance at this session is mandatory for family members who wish
to visit the client during visitation times on the weekend.
8. INTERMIN
SERVICES
Due
to the high demand for Residential Treatment Services, and the limited
number of beds available, at times, all we can offer an individual
are classes that include: counseling and education about HIV and
Tuberculosis (TB); about the risks of needle-sharing; the risks
of transmission to sexual partners and infants, and about steps
that can be taken to ensure that HIV and TB transmission does not
occur, as well as referral for HIV or TB services if necessary.
At the time of the Pre-Screening, the admission counselor will offer
these services until a residential bed opens up.

PREVENTION RESOURCE
CENTER (PRC)
The
Prevention Resource Center Services include, but not are limited
to the following: the APNA Survey, Operate a clearinghouse and materials
library, support other ADAP grantees, cooperate with other PRCs
in the State, assist with Synar compliance checks, serve as a RADAR
Associate; organize and maintain a Regional Task Force; collaborate
with area coalitions; provide Drugs Don’t Work Trainings; provide
Prevention Generalist Training for those interested in becoming
a Certified Prevention Consultant in Arkansas..
The
Prevention Resource Center strives to provide culturally appropriate
materials to address "culture" with a definition that
goes beyond race and ethnic group. Participants will be reflective
of the diversity of the area (as it relates to age, gender, socioeconomic
status, ethnicity and physical challenges).
Other
trainings in which the Prevention Resource Center provides includes,
but not limited to: Cultural Diversity, Stress Management, Ethics,
Team Building, and Drugs Don’t Work.

THE
PURPLE CAMEL RECOVERY STORE
Through the generous donations, and encouragement from Harbor House,
Inc. Board, the Purple Camel Recovery store was officially opened
on April 30, 2009.
We carry a wide variety of gently used and new books and pamphlets.

information to those who are seeking help, those sponsoring individuals,
and those who may have a loved one that they are concerned about.

CLEARINGHOUSE
Within
the walls of the Prevention Resource Center, they have a Clearinghouse
of information for the public to access. This information is in
the form of brochures, pamphlets, booklets, children’s coloring
books (on alcohol and drug information) as well as posters. The
information contained in these items include, use of tobacco, alcohol,
drugs, co-dependence. Some booklets are in Spanish. These items
are provided at no cost to the public.
