INTERMIN SERVICES Due to the high demand for Residential Treatment Services, and the limited number of beds available, at times, all we can offer an individual are classes that include: counseling and education about HIV and Tuberculosis (TB); about the risks of needle-sharing; the risks of transmission to sexual partners and infants, and about steps that can be taken to ensure that HIV and TB transmission does not occur, as well as referral for HIV or TB services if necessary. At the time of the Pre-Screening, the admission counselor will offer these services until a residential bed opens up.

THE PRC LITERATURE CLEARINGHOUSE One of the five dimensions of the Prevention Resource Center Program is Information and Dissemination. Within the PRC is a Literature Clearinghouse, as well as a Resource Room. In the Clearinghouse there are brochures, pamphlets, booklets and children's coloring books that relate to alcohol, tobacco and other drugs to gang violence. Certain items are written in Spanish. These items are for the public to access (in limited amounts) at no cost. The inventory is constantly changing as it is provided from the Office of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention. The PRC Resource Room is primarily for research purposes. The public is welcome to visit and look over programs that are proven to work and endorsed by federal agencies. Since these are provided by our funding source, they must remain at our office. We also have books and handouts on numerous topics that can be viewed at leisure. If you are interested in literature or seeing the resource room, please call or email us. 1111 THE
